Synaptic Potential
The liminal space between identities gave me the metaphor of the synapse - the gap between neurons where energy leaps, signals are transmitted, and potential exists only because of the space between. Like the synaptic gap, the in-between is not emptiness but a charged threshold, alive with possibility between sides that need to communicate. Ambiguity itself can be fertile ground: a place where meaning sparks, and where distance becomes the crucial condition for choice, transformation, and new patterns to form. If the neurons were fused, there would be certainty -but no freedom, no nuance, no growth.
I kept waking up into different realities. Each one felt unrelentingly distinct, allowing me to forget the other I just knew. Each carried its own density of realness - though never in totality. The tension between them was vibrating with potential.
