Overlapping Threads is a mural that brings together ideas of perception, connection, and shared experience. Flowing layers of graphic lines like an abstract microscopic piece of fabric wind around lifelike facial elements- inspired by women’s features. These parts show how we see, experience, and communicate. While each stands on its own, they’re all connected in a woven pattern that reminds us how we’re woven together. It honors the unique voices and experiences of women- and the strength we find in community with each other. This mural was made for an empowering creative space in a residential apartment.
